Learning Contentment

Ladies, yes its true........I have yet unloaded another truckload of stuff from my home. I've been putting together some things for awhile for the antique shop Lady to come by and look at. She has a full time job, plus the shop and has been sick too so she hasn't been able to get by here. Needless to say my pile was getting bigger and bigger.  She finally got to stop by after work yesterday evening.  Of course she like it all and took everything with her. She and I have the same taste in stuff :) her words! My grandson helped her load it and she was on her way, happy as a lark, and I  have another $100.00 credit at her shop. This situation is working out fine for us both, as she said she hasn't had any extra time to go out looking to buy things to restock her shop with, and I am happy to unload some wares on her! Things are paring down nicely here in my cottage and making me feel much more comfortable.  Am I done yet, no....not at all. One day, maybe ;)

Lilly seems to be content in whatever place I am. All she needs from life is food, water, the outdoors and someone to love her. I think we can learn much from our pets on what it truly means to live contented in this life. They don't require much at all,  they're so forgiving, and they give without asking much in return. Lesson learned.

Blessings to you all...... Shelley

Companions

This little girl and I have bonded , finely!  I have to confess it took me awhile to really warm up to her. I don't know exactly why, maybe for several reasons, but I just can't pin point one or the other! I really thought about giving her up and tried ,but no one was a taker. Now,I don't think I could let her go even if someone were to offer to give her a home. She is very loving and has so much to give, but in turn requires alot of attention as well. I have never been a real big  " lap dog " person, unlike my daughter Regina who loves a dog in her lap always, and in her bed, not so me! I on the other hand,do like to love and cuddle with my pet,but when I want too. I don't like to feel as if I am being commanded to " hold me " by my pet constantly...do you understand what I am confiding here... at all?
My Duke wasn't a lap dog..he learned early on to sit at my feet, I pat and cuddled him with my feet. That may sound funny ...it kinda does even to myself :)  ,but its true! For one thing Duke was way to heavy for me to pick up and cuddle. While I do pick a much smaller Lilly up and cuddle on her from time to time, she has learned, as Duke did, to sit at my feet, and she has learned that I don't want to be smothered by her affection.
So we love one another and have our times of cuddling and wooing, but we have our own space as well. When its bed time she has learnt the routine....her bed is on the floor beside my own..she now goes to her bed and I go to mine..without all her begging and crying of ...Please,please I want to sleep with you! she gets in her bed,I call her my good girl ,and I then get in my own bed. When its been real cold in the house over the winter,  I have let her come into my bed.....she goes way down under the covers and is content, but as I said....putting a pet in the bed with me just isn't something I prefer do. I hope that doesn't make all you huge animal lovers think any less of me  :) Just kidding. We all have our ways, don't we?

So as it is, I think Lilly and I have become the "almost" perfect companions...she understands me and I understand her! Now,you know a little bit more about me and a little bit more about my Lilly.

On another note... the baptismal Sunday evening at the lake was beautiful. Such an awesome time of fellowship with my family, also brothers and sisters in the Lord. Eight souls were baptised, the picture below is of my Pastor (right) and his brother baptizing their daddy. What a blessing. Hope your week is lovely my friends
