Nothing wrong with Gerber Baby's eye, just a flash reflection. |
Remember when I blogged here about the things I found at the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary sale? These are two of the dolls I found. The Gerber Baby, and the sweet little girl to the far right. She is a doll by artist, Bessie Pease Gutmann. The doll in the middle was given to me recently by a friend. She is a Vogue doll, and was wearing her original clothes, but I decided to dress her in this little vintage handmade dress after cleaning her. I also redressed Gerber Baby in a handmade Swiss Dot fabric vintage dress.
The wooden doll out front is my version of "Tottie" from the Doll House . She was once a faceless angel! I just took off her wings, painted her hair in black, and gave her a face, then added a little apron around her waist.

Can you see the likeness in the face of my doll and this Bessie Pease Gutmann print?
I guess,I shall never grow out of my love for dolls....I'm hopeless!

Oh, I just love that sweet Bessie Pease Gutmann! What a pretty expression she has! She does look like the print a lot, too!
Enjoy playing dolls!

A Gerber Baby! So cute! Your little group is adorable...dolls never fail to make me smile!
No one is ever to old to play with dolls. Such a beautiful collection. Keep playing and collecting.
I love dolls too! Have you ever seen the dollhouse by Tasha Tudor? She played with them well into her 80's...LOL!
I remember the Gerber Baby. I gave one to a friend way back in 1980. She was in a long white Christening gown.
I always enjoy seeing your sweet dolls.
