Ole' to Izannah

 These are some examples of Izannah Walker dolls. I'm sure some of you are familiar with these wonderful dolls of long ago, but for those that aren't, go visit here for some history on them. Aren't they just lovely?
Well, you know awhile back I posted about my reborning dolls, well I'm at it again, but this time I'll call what I'm doing as " Doll Altering" Taking dolls rescued from the thrift stores , cleaning them up and altering them into becoming a total new doll!

The doll in this picture below is the one I just started transforming.  Basically , all I've done at this point is bathed her , painted hair and eyebrows on her. Do you see where I'm going with her? I hope it's fairly evident that I'm fashioning her into an Izannah Walker look alike, if you will :)

Of course, there is still much work to do on this little one until her makeover is complete, but I just couldn't keep myself from sharing with you. I'll share her again once she is complete. I'll be adding her to my Esty shop and see if someone may be interested in adopting her for a reasonable fee, of course.
I am also going to have a couple of my crocheted lap blankets to offer and a few vintage items as well. I'm trying to keep my hands busy, and make a little extra income too, which is needed.  Hope you all have a fun, very blessed weekend ♡ Shelley

Wee Ones Wednesday

Busy with babies today. A new wee one, a toddler named Emily Grace. Shes a rowdy one. Can't take my eye off her.

Wednesday Wee Ones ....joining Diane

Diane at Lavender Dreams has been having Wednesday Wee Ones since she first started her blog years ago. I have been a follower of hers since close to the beginning. She has a whole doll room of wee ones to share and I for one never tire of visiting her babies and other wee ones. If you aren't a fan of baby dolls,she has many other styles of dolls,stuffies, etc. .....you are sure to find something that will capture your heart and tug tight on the strings  :)

So I am joining Diane today for Wednesday Wee Ones and featuring this sweet Lee Middleton baby that is new to my home. I have named her Bonnie,because of her Bonnie blue eyes. I know y'all are probably thinking... I've been weeding my home and have gave up many dolls....so why get another! Well, because I gave up, I can now afford to gain this sweet baby. I haven't made it to that # four decision I made. To keep four and let the rest of my dolls re-home else where,but thats the goal,but still not set in stone....so to speak!  :) and in reality ...I'm not far from that number. But I'll discuss that subject in another post. Right now,I'm pretty happy to have this sweetie in my wee nursery. I purchased Bonnie from ebay,at a very low price of $9.99....if you know anything of Lee Middleton dolls....you know what a deal that was. I purchased her cute outfit at the Dollar store. Christmas Cottage

The little dolls are all set for Christmas.  They have decorated their cottage, the snow has fallen and filled the roof.

Antique German Doll

This is a doll given to me recently by a friend.  She is antique with a porcelain head and a wooden jointed body. Shes about 16 inches tall, maybe a little bit more.  Her wig was long curls, but I cut it, liking a short bob cut better for her. She has fit in well, with the other dolls and feels right at home.

I haven't given her a name yet. Any suggestions?

Hope you all have a blessed week.  I had a wonderful visit with my parents. Now I'm back home in my own little nest.  I'm going to try and savor each day before Christmas all , but comes and goes.

Busy Little Dolls, and Ole St. Nick

The little dolls of the cottage are making preparations for St. Nicholas Day tomorrow.  They have the Christmas music blaring.  Busy, busy.....fuss, fuss, but so much fun and conversation.  I think they may be just a little bit excited.  Yes, just a little :)

Thank you sweet friends for your kind words and prayers.  I'm feeling better and stronger today. I hear being creative is good for the soul, so I did just that....a bit of some "Simply Shelley" creativeness.

Remember ,I said I was going to choose four dolls to keep? Well, that decision is turning out to be a bit difficult for me.  As far as choosing who stays and who goes, but I'm determined. I will do this!

Simple Changes

I've made some changes to my little sock doll. I thought I'd share what she looks like now, but I'm still not finished with her.

Thought I would remove the yard hair. Instead I just picked out the fibers of the sock which gave her a bit of kinky fine baby hair. I gave her a pacifier too! Now she's well contented, but she still needs her clothes and a blanket.

Quite a difference, right?

Oh, not good.

Guess we can all use changes from time to time........Blessings dear ones
