Chit Chat...this and that

I went through a half day of testing on my heart last Friday. The nurse called this morning and said all was normal. I am praising God for those results as I know it is his work in me. Although I suffer daily with terrible pain from the arthritis, and fibromyalgia...God continues to bless me with good test results in other vita areas of my body. My blood pressure has even been amazing the doctor. He commented that it was almost too good.....hum, I didn't know that was possible :)  So, I now know all the huffing, puffing and feeling sick to my stomach while out trying to shop or even just walking from one place to the other is stress from all this weight I carry. I still know that isn't a good thing and yes,it stresses my heart, yet my heart is strong and hopefully won't fail me anytime soon. I pray some of the weight will come off after the bariatric surgery and then I can have surgery to replace my knees. That's the plan...God willing. I just want to be a healthy vessel for God to work through. I now know he has a plan for my future, which doesn't include being confined to my bed or a wheelchair.

Succulents

Picked up some more plants recently, and the cute " Miss Mouse " to the right is a string holder....she is supposed to have a little pair of scissors for her eye glasses. I liked her colors....retro...right? The string ball fits through the back and comes through the front through a little hold in the top of her bag. I am about to re-pot this Kalanchoe...I love these plants....they come in all different colors. I got my daughter Regina a yellow one for her recent birthday.

I really like this page below from pinterest...I believe it was! I weeded through my own books again last week. I took away about 30...sized them down quite a bit! I won't be buying anymore for sometime. I have many good books to read now, thanks to my daughter and some wonderful blogging friends who sent me some lovely books. Thanks again ladies...you know who you are :) I would make some changes to the below arrangement, but I still like the style very much.

And this is from my kitchen .......

Regina and I stopped at one of our favorite sales after the doctor's visit on Friday. It was the Spring sale of the Salvations Army Ladies Axillary. Between us we spent under four dollars. I only got a few things, and will share them in another post. I wasn't fit much for looking or shopping after all those test, but it was fun to stop by,and I ran into a friend while I was there, I had a chance to say hi,and see her sweet baby girl again. I hope you all have a lovely week....until next time....blessings

In my little mobile cottage

Her hat is hiding the VAL,but this picture says " To my Valentine ".
It was created by a blogging friend. Don't the little girls dolls look like twins?  I thought so!

I crocheted some covers for the drawer knobs on this chest. I must say... I saw this idea on Pinterest and gave it a try, using my own pattern which I think I changed with each cover...trying to improve them  :)    I left the two bottom knobs uncovered since they were the natural wood. Yet,I may decide to cover them as well at some point.

This basket has been covered in crochet as well, but it was not me who did this work. I found it while out thrift shopping with my mama the last time I was down to stay with my parents. Which by the way...I am going to be with them next week for a few days. Anyway, I thought this basket very interesting and so it came home with me. I am so enjoying this devotional  " Amish Peace "  what a blessing it has been to get up each morning and read it with my first cup of coffee. I don't know the two folks in the picture....I just thought it was a neat find at the Trading Post here in my small town. How do people discard their relatives?  Well, I guess I have adopted them ...hehe

These curtains are now hanging in my bedroom. A gift from a dear elderly sister in our church. She made them, and I just love them. They are a beautiful blue chintz pattern. The scenes in these remind me very much of the Amish life. With farm houses, animals and there are even covered bridges on them. I wish I would have taken a better picture so that you could have seen these much better.

May you all have a blessed weekend,Shelley

Let Us Love...............

I am feeling much better today....so much so,that while my daughter was here doing some housekeeping for me, I sorted through all the drawers in this chest, weeded some things from them, and then organized them. I finely got the Valentine decorations out and put together this vignette.  The little Boyd's Bear and the Pooh I purchased from Hospice last week... .25 for Pooh and .50 cents for the Boyd's Bear.

I crocheted the heart garland and the loose yarn hearts as well... last year.

The little blue lamb and the pink butterfly were my children's when they were babies.

Made for a pretty cute vignette, don't you think?

The bulbs are coming up nicely.

Thank you for all your sweet comments on yesterdays post. I had a wonderful talk with my Lord....he cheered my heart right up....he is so good like that!  Always
Blessings to you all........Shelley

Have a Heart

My grandson Isaiah raked leaves for me ,and left me a heart  :)

I found this beautiful pot at the charity shop in town....I scrubbed it up,and now I am attempting to sprout hyacinth in it,as well as the little blue pot near the lamp. My mama gave me the zebra...I thought he looks cute among the plant life....kinda like he is in the jungle  :)   The little burlap bear was a gift from my friend Betty for Christmas, isn't he cute?

I leave this flicker light burning day and night...makes for a cosy feeling in my home.

At the cross where I first saw the light...his light!

I think we are bonding and forming a great companionship  :)  Snowie and I !

I pray you all have a blessed weekend and a beautiful Lord's Day on Sunday. The sun is shining so pretty here today and the temps are very nice.....I would love to be out and about browsing some flea market grounds somewhere today.....I do miss those kind of outings.  Blessings, Shelley

Puttering Results

Just thought I would share some of the results from my day of puttering around the house.
Remember, I have shown you this first picture before? Well, the picture below is after my day of puttering... I mentioned to you in my last post. Moving things around a bit...makes a difference, doesn't it. I like the enamel pates better hanging in the rack above the shelf.

This is the picture hanging under the plate rack, the one you can't make out in the picture above. This was given to me by my friend Betty... a couple years ago. By the way girls, Betty is doing great with her bout with cancer....I will give a full update on her story soon.

Putting my little chicken collection under it....was a great idea, don't ya think?

I love this sweet ceramic tile with the little girl and boy picking apples.

I did some other things as well, but that's all I have pictures of for now. Until next time...blessings to ya!

Fun Vintage finds

I think my dear friend, pen pal and kindred spirit Jackie from Once Upon a Fairyland  just may know me better than I know myself. She picked out this vintage style greeting card at her local bible book store and mailed it to me a while back. Inside she wrote....I knew this would make you feel happy!  She was so right.....this card is like a piece of eye candy to me, and had me craving for more color.....that's about the time I decided I wanted to start adding more color to my home. Another blogging friend Mica, has such a wonderful home , so full of color and vintage style...she too got me thinking....I needed to go back to the once more fun, vintage style, that I used to have in my little mobile cottage. So all that said....I started the hunt for fun things to add to!  The hunt is always the fun part for me......and even more fun when you find what you are hunting for. Just like these neat vintage Pyrex bowls I found at Salvation Army recently.

I was a little exicted about these :)

Then yesterday while my daughter, grandson Jaxon and I were out and about on an errand. We stopped by a little thrift store near by in the next little town over from ours. I saw this set of vintage juice glasses and thought...Yep...I like these!

Jaxon has an eye for vintage as well....he came bringing this old Fisher Price puppy dog to me...I told him...hang on to it grandson...he is going home with us  :)   My eldest son had one just like this when he was a little boy....it was his favorite toy of all time.

Go pay my friends a visit.....you won't be disappointed......blessings on your weekend, Shelley

Picture This............

How was your first day of Autumn?  Mine was wonderful, the weather fit it just right too. It has been a wonderful Lord's day all the way around. I finely got a few things done on Saturday and took a few pictures. A bit of Autumn decorating, some other color and vintage look I have added too.  I hope all of you have a blessed week.....I hope this Autumn like weather hangs around for a bit....,but here in East Texas...one just never knows  :)  Blessings, Shelley

This shelf I had painted black at one time, it was over the sink.. now, I have painted it this pretty aqua color, and moved it here.

The desk top............with some of my Amish things...I even found a small German testament at the charity shop here in my little town. That's it you see beside the FAITH sign.

My front door........a basket full of Autumn posies.

Green lantern hanging in the kitchen.

And some very cherry kitchen towels hanging on the stove  :) Just a few items I picked up on the clearance shelf at the Dollar Store!

Its a start...for a more vintage cottage look...I am pleased so far  :)   ,but I am about as bad as our Texas weather...if you don't like what you see today...just hang around...Its bound to change  ;)

Vintage Now

Past Vintage in my home

Past Vintage in my home

I have steadily been working on my task this week. Cleaning, along with changing out some decor, from primitive to more vintage. I was just getting tired of the browns, and neutral colors. Had a feeling for some more bright, fun colors...although its that time of the year to bring out the browns, golds, and burnt oranges with Autumn upon us. There will be some to be sure, along with the brighter colors as well. I am a bit eclectic! I haven't taken any pictures yet, because I haven't done my fall decorating yet. Maybe by my next post...I will have pictures for you to see. I have actually been feeling fairly well this week, and have just been working at my own pace. I seem to get more done this way, than pushing myself. No rush for any reason anyway! Just do what I feel like each day, stop and start as I feel too.  Works for me! I am so thankful this morning,as we are getting a fair amount of rainfall...its been a while, and it is so needed. The dry ground is soaking the rain up as fast as it falls. Maybe cooler temps are just around the corner....would be wonderful. I hope your weekend is lovely...blessings to all of you...my friends...Shelley

The look I am working toward........
