Tea Talk and Chit Chat

Go grab you a cup of tea and lets talk, OK!  I'm still reading The Mitford Series by JanKaron. Right now I'm in the third book, These High Green Hills. I've not been reading as much as I once did though. I believe I truly enjoy the Amish stories much more, and after this series I'll probably begin another Amish one.

I'm also thinking I need to start being more creative, to the point of making some things and stocking my etsy shop that has been in limbo for years. Earning a little extra income sure wouldn't hurt either. We are having some very warm weather for January, in the low 80's the last couple of days. January is most often our coldest winter month, but back in October we had some much colder than normal weather so maybe an early spring is in store.  On the good side , I'm saving on my propane, which is quite expensive, by not having to burn my heater.

This picture below is from a friends craft room. If I fix myself such a space,I may really get busy creating  ;)

My daughter Regina and I got out and about for a while today. We hit a couple of thrift stores and then had lunch, then to shop for household things. It was a beautiful day, but I was actually sweating, very warm for a winter day indeed. I know some of you are most likely looking out your windows at the snow piles growing larger.  I love snow, but we never see enough of it here. I know it can become troublesome at times too, too much of even a good thing is just to much! OK, ladies enough tea talk for this time......I've rattled on enough. Until next time ......be blessed♡

Tea Time Talk

There is just something about holding a pretty teacup and saucer in your hands full of hot, good for you tea. My choice for today is......Super fruit green tea . Most especially when the weather is nice and chilly as it is here today at 45 in the afternoon.  I'll be heading out today with my daughter to grocery shop. I'm cleaning my cupboards of unhealthy food and replacing them with more healthy choices.  Praying I can stay on the band wagon of making better choices , healthy choices in many areas of my life, not just the cupboards of  my cottage. My daughter Regina and I had an outing Thursday evening with a couple of friends.  I'm sharing a few pictures below. Its was Christmas open house at our favorite Antique mall.  Doesn't seem like it should be that time of the year again, but yes, it truly is.   Have a blessed weekend my friends,  Shelley  :)

Tasha Tudor Day 2013

Pinterest
Today is Tasha's Tudor's birthday, and along with some other Tasha fans in blogland, I am celebrating  "Tasha Tudor Day". I am fond of Tasha for many reasons, but mostly for the simplicity of her lifestyle. That is what most drew me to learn more about her. Unfortunately, I only discovered Tasha a couple of years before her death. I have some of her books and love her illustrations . She loved her dolls too,but not so much baby dolls,as I do  :) ,but  however,a doll lover is a doll lover  ...right?
Just look at her fantastic dollhouse.

Pinterest
She also loved her animals ,especially her beloved corgi's. And taking tea on her porch.

Pinterest

So sweet!
If you would like to see more of my Tasha Tudor board, you may go here to Pinterest. Now,on to how I celebrated today....As Tasha, I took to my porch to have tea this morning. Along with the dogs and Ms. Kitty. Donned in a fresh clean head scarf.

I don't have a proper Tea Cosy so... as always....I make do!  With a clean pretty tea towel. Wrap around and tied at the top of my pot...works wonderfully  :)

I prefer an old tea cup and saucer to a new one.

The Tea Cosy!

Of course,Jessie wanted to tea party too. She loves graham crackers with her tea,as do I.

Don't even think about it Pebbles..says she! You weren't invited!

And Ms. Kitty had to have some cream. Cats do love cream...you know.

Poor Jessie she looking so anxiously at Ms. Kitty taking her cream. I think I have began to spoil her since my sweet little Duke passed on. Oh well, she is a good dogie and takes good care to watch and protect me....so she deserves a bit of spoiling.

Later in the day I will fill the bird feeder with fresh seed and wash out the birdbath and fill it with fresh water....I think Tasha would approve of how I chose to celebrate her day. If you would like to enter a Tasha Tudor give away...go here to Rookery Ramblings. And If you would like to read more post on Tasha...visit here . If you haven't read my previous post..please do!  Blessings to all, Shelley

Tea Talk

Hello friends, Its getting really hot here in East Texas! You may already know by now...I don't do hot weather well. My trip to the doctors office today, and back was draining  for me. I thank God I have a cool home to come back home too. At least my old AC is keeping my home comfortably cool anyway. My visit went well, except my BP was too low. Doc is cutting back on my BP meds just a bit. That should help me feel a little more lively,I hope! Saturday, while I was still at my parents home,I had very little energy, and slept most of the day! I have some busy days ahead of me...I need all the energy I can muster up  :)
The 15th is the wedding,my daddy has eye surgery on the 17th,I have surgery on the 25th to repair a very large hernia. Last evening our church family gave my kids a very beautiful wedding shower. They were so happy, and I was happy for them. I have been a member of this same church for the last 20 years. We have had weddings, births, baby dedications, graduations, illnesses, surgeries, family tragedies...all kinds of situations shared with this same church...good times, and bad times...always they were there to help celebrate, or to comfort, pray for ,and encourage. What a blessing my church has been to me,and my family! All because of the love of Christ that flows through the hearts of its members...the body of Christ!  I'm sure you understand exactly what I am speaking of. Its the same with some of you....I feel a strong spiritual connection with you, even though we have never even met face to face!
If we never have the opportunity to meet here...we will know one another there! I truly believe that to be so. Blessings on your week my dear friends, and thanks for stopping by for a little "Tea Talk"
