Weeding....chit...chat

Dolls on my bed....Bethy, and Chatty Baby!

I weeded through my bookshelf's and have a whole box leaving my home. Plus, some knick knacks, a set of Easter bunnies,a Christmas wreath and some other items, which I have already forgotten, have been donated to our local charity shop "We Care Too ".
Back in the first of December, I sold some of my dolls on ebay through a friend, and she has some others she will put in her booth at the antique mall. I gave my vintage Tiny Tears to my friend Betty as a Christmas present. She had one just like her as a child, and I knew she would love having my doll.

My plan is to only keep a few of my larger dolls, also a few smaller ones, my Hitty doll and a couple of her companions! :)  I have been gathering some tiny things for Hitty Jane ,in hopes of having her a doll house one day. I am trying to convince my eldest son to build me a plain four room doll house. I think I may have him close now,to being convinced that is :)

I heard a comment recently if something is packed away, stored out of sight, not being used or appreciated, then essentially it has already been discarded. I thought about that and in my reasoning, its seems to be a correct statement. I wouldn't say so, as far as seasonal things,in the way of holiday decorations, nor would I put keepsake items in with that category, because in my thinking ,those things are retrieved from time to time for their purpose. Does that make any sense to you at all? What I do have in my possession, I would like to have out in the open so that it is being used or at least appreciated by sight of it. So with all that being said , my "weeding " process will continue until I reach my goal, and will begin again at some point afterwards, if I feel my home becoming to cluttered once again. I am happy to say...I have just about reached the point of not having any excess storage in or outside of my home. I only have a few more storage boxes to weed through. Realizing that feels pretty good too!  I am still looking for that "Remembrance Chest" to store my keepsakes in. The one I made mention of  in this post! It won't need to be big...middle size will work just fine! OK, I think I have taken enough of your time with my thoughts of weeding! Thanks so much for all of your prayers regarding my previous post...there are going to be hard days ahead for certain loved ones, but they are trusting the Good Lord and he won't let them down. Blessings to each and everyone of you.....Shelley

Have a Heart

My grandson Isaiah raked leaves for me ,and left me a heart  :)

I found this beautiful pot at the charity shop in town....I scrubbed it up,and now I am attempting to sprout hyacinth in it,as well as the little blue pot near the lamp. My mama gave me the zebra...I thought he looks cute among the plant life....kinda like he is in the jungle  :)   The little burlap bear was a gift from my friend Betty for Christmas, isn't he cute?

I leave this flicker light burning day and night...makes for a cosy feeling in my home.

At the cross where I first saw the light...his light!

I think we are bonding and forming a great companionship  :)  Snowie and I !

I pray you all have a blessed weekend and a beautiful Lord's Day on Sunday. The sun is shining so pretty here today and the temps are very nice.....I would love to be out and about browsing some flea market grounds somewhere today.....I do miss those kind of outings.  Blessings, Shelley

Fun Saturday Post............

She thinks of taking sewing lessons.

This little shelf from goodwill was brown with a drawer in the bottom space. I thought of making a small doll house from it for this little Blythe doll, but she is just a bit to big for such, but it stills makes a cute display shelf. I papered the back walls, which we originally open, with craft paper, that I found at the charity shop. The cute little treadle sewing machine I have had on hand for a long while. How to you like the little girl bunny in the first room?

I once found these very sweet bluebird salt and pepper shakers at a garage sale for only .25 cents, years ago. I have held on to them ...while getting rid of so much other stuff. They are just to cute to part with!
Such a happy little bluebird!

Save these cute images if you like. My little Easter treat for you!  They were free to me...I just can't remember from where.

Doll Orphans..........

Looks like she is still dripping some water under her chin, from her nice scrubby bath. Must take care of that!

Yesterday Regina,my daughter, and I went up town to take a look see at the Charity Shop and Trading Post. It was such a beautiful day, just being out in the sunshine was a blessing. Mr. Trading Post Man knows I like dolls so, he loaded me with a arm full and told me to take them home and fix them up (his words) .  So I thought, why not...might be fun. I haven't rescue any orphans in a while :)  Orphans they were too.....there were four, and sad to say,but I could only "fix up" the one above. This cute baby doll was made by the  EEGEE Doll Co. ,I'm guessing probably in the 1970's. There is a Cabbage Patch that I will put through a wash as well, and see how she fairs! The other two? One went in the trash..the other I savaged the head. Sounds kinda gory , doesn't it ,but its the truth :)  The Donald Duck bowling pin was a find as well,as were the little vintage, made in Japan, dishes and the wash pan, those I bought from Mr.Trading Post Man!

Below, these two have been with me for a good long while now....I just thought I would show you a little hat I crocheted for my Bonnie, big eyes! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and the weather is warming up where you live, unless of course you like the cold of winter, and I know some of you do :)  It is still a bit chilly here, but the sun is out after a quite a bit of rain we have had lately.
