Cold front Arrives & Waldorf Dolls

Google image
The cooler weather reached us here in East Texas today...it dropped about 20 degrees in the space of about 30 minutes. I am loving it too :)  May even be able to wear a light sweater in the morning for church. I hope we have had the last of our hot weather for the season. I went to town today with my daughter Regina and son in law Jon. We stopped by the goodwill and I found a couple of things. One is the cutest little Waldorf style doll. I also found a small vintage plaid thermos bottle...just like the ones we used to carry our drinks to school in. I will show you those soon. Wishing you all a wonderful Lord's day tomorrow. I may be going to spend a day or so with my parents...so I may holler at you from there :)  Blessings

Remember these doll creations of my own ? They are simular to the Waldorf style.

This doll I made from a childs tube sock.

My little Waldorf Baby.....

A little doll I am working on...I am making her in a bit of the Waldorf  fashion. She is made from a new pair of children's socks, some '"Dolly Cloth" Soft Sculpture fabric, for the head, and stuffed with clean, fresh smelling dryer lint...yes,I said dryer lint :) I sometimes save it in a bag to work with small projects! It feels much more natural to me then the Polyfil stuffing.
I do try to recycle as much as possible. Has nothing to do with being what some may call cheap :)  I have always been one to have the need to make do anyway. Not always having money to run out and buy what is needed.

Below are some examples of Waldorf dolls from Google images......
This style is called Pocket Dolls

There are many different styles of  bodies, but all heads are made in the same fashion as below!
This doll head will have an overlapping piece of material on it when finished... circling the head with a strong tread, are such,is what forms the facial structure. Then creating a little bump for the nose :)

I just love these very pretty dolls, and how they are dressed...don't you?
Blessings to all,Shelley
