God is good.......

I got up around 8:00 and had a couple from my church and another man I had never met before outside in my yard, taking a look around my house. They are trying to go through some channels(a type of community program of sorts) and see about getting a new porch with a ramp built onto my mobile home. All the old will come down, starting over from the beginning with all new materials. I can't tell you what a blessing that will be to me. The stairs I have now are steep and rickety. They are getting more and more difficult to climb with my bad knees, etc. They have needed to be replaced for a long time but, even with new steps...Steps aren't the easiest thing to tackle when you are in almost constant pain. Going up and down a ramp with my walker would be wonderful. Would make it so much easier going down the long drive to the mailbox and such. I have the type with a seat,to sit and rest when you have gone as far as you are able.Eventually, when I am able to have surgery, getting in and out of my home will be easy compared to the old steps I have now. The best part of this is,I didn't even ask for it.This blessing just came to me without asking. God is good to provide...he always has been...Big and little needs. I am so grateful for willing hearts and hands that allow him to use them.
It is still somewhat difficult for me to be on the receiving end of blessings...I had so much rather be a blessing than receive one. I admit I have a problem with thinking myself worthy at times but,I am working on that and learning more and more to receive with a joyful heart, knowing it is all by God's loving kindness. I in turn will continue to live my life in a way that I too may be a blessing in whatever area I am able.
I am going to share this picture of my home as a before picture ...I pray one day soon,God willing,I will have an after picture to share, with a brand new porch. I have been thinking about leaving here for a couple of years now and moving into an apartment or such but,as of yet,a door hasn't open for that to happen. Maybe God is providing a way that I may be able to stay put here for a few more years. This place I have called home for the last 20 years now.

Its not a beautiful sight but,its home....My home on Red Rock Hill.......

Blessings on your Lord's day......

I think it is a cute and cozy home. I'd live in it and be as happy as a jay bird in spring!

I'm praying that that ramp is built for you and that the pain will ease because of it.

Love you so much!

Oh Shelley, what a blessing that will be! You are so worthy of this gift. I can say that, even though I don't know you, because of the christian heart you share with your readers!

Hi Shelly,
I am so happy for you!! You know you soe seeds of kindness everyday and you share Christ's love by your ways, your words, and your caring for others.
I wanted to let you know that if you get a note from your doctor stating that you have troubling walking, you can take that to the post office and you can get your mail delivered to your door. I didn't know this but my MIL fell and broke her hip last summer and also has had knee replacements on both knees so she has a hard time walking and has to use a walker. Her mailbox is quite a distance from her house because she has a long paved driveway. She did this and now the mail is delivered to her back door. So please check into it. Congratulations again on getting the new porch and ramp and don't worry about letting someone do something for you for a change!
hugs,
Lynn
