My poor Jessie Girl got snake bit. Her throat swelled up huge,and she wasn't able to eat or drink water. I had my daughter carry us to the vet this morning,not knowing what would be the out come. I knew I wouldn't have the funds if she needed a lot of treatment,and I even thought that I might need to have her put down. It's hard taking proper care of pets when you can hardly provide for yourself,but the two dogs I have now...have been with me for years,even before I was living alone on disability. As it is,they are my responsibility to care for now,as long as they are with me.When they pass,I won't allow myself another pet. It turned out better for Jessie than I thought it would,as the doctor lanced her throat to drain and put her on antibiotics . She is certainly one sick girl though. I am praying she recovers without any complications. I am having to give her water through a syringe. As far as her eating goes...it took me an hour to spoon feed her a half a can of dog food. I was thankful she got to come back home with me...she is a very sweet and loyal pet!

Oh Shelley, having pets is like having children...they require so much of our attention. But like you, once the ones that are with me are gone, I will not get another one.

Oh...Poor girl! I hope she get's better soon! Pets do become family. I have two cats and they are part of us. I can't even think of the time when they are gone. Take gteat care of tour girl. She will recover soon. Give her lots of loving.
It's hard to see these "family members" get sick or toward their last days. Wishing her a full recovery!
