Charity Shop Finds..........

There are two near by Charity Shops close to me. One here in our own little hometown, and one in the small town over from ours. The one here in our town, accepts donations of clothing and households goods, then sells these items in the shop. The monies are used to buy food from the local food bank, then distributed to those in need in our area. The other shop works on the same basis, only the monies go to a Christian Organization, which puts young women who are addicted to drugs and alcohol through rehab and helps them to get on their feet once they are ready to do so. Anyway,I like helping anyway I can and have through donations, shopping, and volunteering to work in the shop here in our town. The finds I am sharing today came from the shop in the next town over ..... the cup is bone china and made in England.

This is a dresser scarf someone started embroidering and never finished for whatever reason. Things like this that I find, also leave me wondering why!  The work is excellent and the original price tag from Woolworth's is still attached for  .59 cents...amazing isn't it?

Here are the other things I found....

The crocheted slippers are made from wool yard and very warm...I know because..I have them on my feet as I type :)  Hope your week is lovely....I am looking forward to feeling so much better than last week. Lots of housekeeping to catch up.

Hello! Thinking of you this morning and thinking it's time that I write you a letter again. I miss you.

I had coffee from my grandma cup you sent me this morning. Made me feel warm and loved and like you were with me.

I didn't know you did volunteer work for the charity shop. That is wonderful!

Cute and sweet finds too. Love the slippers, they are the best and so warm!
Much needed now in the Pacific Northwest, rain, wind and snow expected. Pray for Len that he gets to work safe in the snow. He has a 30 min. drive up north!

Have a beautiful week!

That's such a good idea, to have a shop for helping others. I don't think we have one like that here. Your cup is just beautiful. It's so nice to find real china.

Great finds Shelley! The dresser scarf is so pretty...I also wonder why it wasn't finished. Looks like a lot of work went into the edging alone!
Thrifting is one of my favorite things to do...although I think I might be full to the brim with thrift right now!
