Under my roof.....and thrift finds

Well,I am back under my own little roof, but I want you to know I had a lovely time. I did all the driving so when we made it back to my parents home yesterday afternoon...I got into my night clothes and went to lay down, and took a long nap. We visited with my Aunt, some cousins and other family members I hadn't seen in a very long time. My cousin, where we spent the night Saturday night has a daughter 36,who is blind,in a wheelchair and has the mental capacity of a young child...although she has a memory like you wouldn't believe...she had not been around me for about eight years and as soon as I spoke...she called out my name. She is a blessing to all she meets. Her mother has dedicated her life to caring for her and what a wonderful job she has done. I sat with Staci on her bed and talked with her before bedtime. We sang bible songs,I read her bible stories. If you ask her who Noah,Moses,Peter, any person from the bible is, she can tell you. Isn't that amazing. God made her so special! We stayed and went to church with them Sunday morning before coming home. Staci cried..she didn't want us to leave  :(  I saw my brother too, he was glad to see us. Anyway, it was a good trip and I enjoyed seeing everyone, but now I am glad to be back home. We went by the goodwill today as mama and daddy were bringing me home. I found a skirt, blouse and a few other little things, including the little handmade doll... above in the picture, these little hard plastic doll carriages, and the Noah doll below.  I hope all is well with all of you. Until next time........

I found your blog just a couple of days ago and I am enjoying it so much! I absolutely love those little carriages. What fun!

I noticed in your profile you live in Texas. I am a native Texan living in Oklahoma. Where abouts in Texas are you? Funny how many ladies, from Texas, I have met via the blog world!

Grace & Peace,

I love your cute thrift store finds. I am a big Goodwill fan myself! Sounds like you had a wonderful visit with your family. You neice sounds like my husband's cousin who had a stroke when she was ten. She is a child in a woman's body, but very innocent. Enjoy the rest of your week.

sounds like an awesome mini-vacation.
I bet they loved having you even more than you loved being there. Still, nothing like coming home. Bet your real buddy is happy to be back home, breathing a big sigh of relief!!!!
