Spring's First Day

Eloise Wilkin - Google

On the first day of Spring, the weather was beautiful here in my neck of the woods.  Jaxon and I went outdoors and planted two little tomato plants in my tiny garden with the Swiss Chard that are already coming along. Then we picked up a few fallen limbs laying around...I the big ones,Jaxon, the smaller ones! Its amazing how much help a three year old can be. Next, I cleaned up an old galvanized mop bucket and planted a pot of creeping jenny in it. It was a big day for us. There was a time when I could spend a whole day outdoors in the yard, but those days are no more. I am very grateful for what I am still able to do though. Some days more, than others :)
So,how was your very first day of Spring?

I like the paintings, are they from a book? I see the artist's name. You are blessed to have a 3 year old helper. Like you, I only garden in short spurts, as I age.

Of course, I love your Eloise Wilkins pictures.
Our first day of Spring was snow, snow and more snow. We live near Lake Michigan and get the full lake effect. Last night it was 12 degrees and today when I went out to get the mail-the 30 degree temps felt Spring like. Weatherman says it will be a COLD Easter. Glad to hear you are getting around a little better. Marlyn

Hi Shelley,
Well, it snowed and it is still snowing here in Michigan. Looking forward to seeing daffodils and tulips soon though!

I spent my day inside cleaning and organizing. I even worked in the doll room for awhile. I wish you had been here to help me work...or play! lol Happy Spring!

Sounds like you were busy on the first beautiful day of Spring. Hope you continue to enjoy all it has to offer. I should start thinking about tomatoe plants too. There's nothing better than the first one off the vine!

Hi Shelley,
That sounds like a very nice First Day of Spring with Jaxon! I am glad you could do it!
Our Spring is coming with daffodils blooming but the wind really blows here in the Spring so it was a very windy day! We could still have snow but maybe not!
Love to you,

It sounds like you had a great time with your grandson and got a lot accomplished. If he is anything like my three year old grandson, there can never be enough dirt to dig in or sticks to pick up (play with). Our weather here in Missouri is still too cold/windy for me to enjoy being outside. Earache weather to me. I am hoping for warmer weather for Easter.
