An Old Fashion Family Fun Day

Saturday we celebrated my step granddaughter, Dakota's birthday at my son's home. All my children, one son in law and my daughter in law...even my youngest son's girlfriend, and almost all the grandchildren were there. After we ate home grilled hamburgers, with the works, then had cake and ice cream...we all went outside to play  :)
It was a beautiful day. The big and little kids had a great time playing soccer, and I had fun watching them. My son built an old fashion tree swing after he and his family moved into this house. He hung the swing in a huge pine tree in the front yard. A few of us had fun on it as well. I even ventured out in the yard and pushed my daughter , Regina on it for a bit  :)  I thought it had been much too long since I had pushed one of my kiddos on a swing.

The tree....the swing.
Mama...pushing daughter.
Weeeee.......

Jalyn on the swing
Getting ready for a game of Soccer, choosing teams.
Lots of action in this game.

Time out

This grandson, Isaiah can move...almost fly  :)

Its entertaining just watching his moves.

The back flip

I'm not sure which side won,but it was some old fashioned fun for all. I love days like this, I hope we can continue to have many, many more... for years to come.

My step grandson, Tristen. He is proud of his pumpkins.

It was a wonderful fun day,but we missed those who were not with us.

My son's home sweet home.
Blessings on your week....Shelley

Thanks for sharing Shelley, you all look like you had a great time. Brought back lots of memories for childhood...seems we always had a swing or two.

Oh, how nice! I used to feel so deprived when I lived somewhere without a swing. Now they make me kind of woozy. Oh, well. :)

What a wonderful day! I have to let you know, though, I am quite jealous! That swing is awesome! I remember my Daddy hanging a tire swing from one of those big ole East Texas pine trees! We had years of fun on that thing! I am going to get my husband to make a swing like your son's, for my grand daughter ;-) ... or me! We don't have those huge pine trees here in Oklahoma but I guess an Elm will work.

So glad you had a blessed day with your family! Precious memories!

Grace & Peace
