Let there be Light

During Christmas I had these battery operated candles in the front windows of my mobile cottage, which included my living room ,kitchen and bedroom windows. When it came time to pack away Christmas...I chose to leave the candles in the windows, and I am so glad I did. When returning home at night from church or some other outing....they give such a welcoming feeling ,seeing them there, glowing in the windows. I think I will leave them all year long! They are set with timers to come on,and go off at certain times. I purchased these at Dollar General ...Christmas 2012,and bought a couple more this last Christmas. I have a few others fitted into candle sconces in my home. I have always loved a soft light in oppostion to a very bright light, however the older I get the more brighter light I need....to see well anyway :)  I rarely use the overhead lights, but table lamps ,candles and other soft lights you will find burning in my home.

Outside....looking in.

Pictures from previous post through the years of lighting through out my little cottage.....

Blessings on your week dear friends

I like the idea of leaving those candles up. :)

The candles look so cozy in your windows. I have the same candles. Bought a few before Christmas last year, and then several more on sale after Christmas. The ones I bought in November of 2012 have been in use since then. They needed new batteries just last week. They look pretty in the windows amongst my colored glass plates even at night. I have definitely gotten my money's worth out of them.

Am wondering how long the light bulbs in them last. Last Christmas, I put one on either side of my Mary statue outside. They were fine, even though it said on the package indoor use only.

I love the look of real candles, but most of them bother my breathing and I worry about them starting a fire.

I love these candles...My Mum likes to light a candle when she says her prayers at night, but at age 97, she is a little too frail and wobbly for real candles. I bought her some of these battery candles and she loves them...
Hugs and Blessings...

I love candels burning too. What aownderful idea to keep the candles "burning" all year! I like to leave my porch light so it 'welcomes me home'.
