Learning Contentment

Ladies, yes its true........I have yet unloaded another truckload of stuff from my home. I've been putting together some things for awhile for the antique shop Lady to come by and look at. She has a full time job, plus the shop and has been sick too so she hasn't been able to get by here. Needless to say my pile was getting bigger and bigger.  She finally got to stop by after work yesterday evening.  Of course she like it all and took everything with her. She and I have the same taste in stuff :) her words! My grandson helped her load it and she was on her way, happy as a lark, and I  have another $100.00 credit at her shop. This situation is working out fine for us both, as she said she hasn't had any extra time to go out looking to buy things to restock her shop with, and I am happy to unload some wares on her! Things are paring down nicely here in my cottage and making me feel much more comfortable.  Am I done yet, no....not at all. One day, maybe ;)

Lilly seems to be content in whatever place I am. All she needs from life is food, water, the outdoors and someone to love her. I think we can learn much from our pets on what it truly means to live contented in this life. They don't require much at all,  they're so forgiving, and they give without asking much in return. Lesson learned.

Blessings to you all...... Shelley

I love this arrangement you have with the "antique shop lady".
You must be enjoying your simpler surroundings. You inspire me Shelley!!

That's a neat arrangement you've worked out with the lady from the antique store. It's good that it works well for both of you. :-)

Lilly is so cute. Pets are such sweet companions. Our dog's name is Lilly too. We got her from the pound about 5 years ago. She's a sweetie.

Yes, I've often thought the same thing about pets. Ours are happy with the basics - food, water, love, and some time outside...wonderful lesson of contentment. :-)

I'm so proud of you! And how nice to get credit to use in her store. That's just great! I've been cleaning out closets since we got back to Florida and I'm about worn out! lol I took a load to donate yesterday and have a few more bags already gathered up for another run! Enjoy your day my friend! Sweet hugs, Diane

Sounds like you have a good scheme going on there. I have just been giving my stuff away as I can't be bothered with ebay - it is just too much work and too time consuming...and not sure of other avenues to take and figure if I try finding somewhere to sell, it will still be sitting here.

Lovely your little Lilly. Yes I do agree we could learn a lot from our pets.

How nice ,that you are getting to reduce some of your stuff..and give others a chance to enjoy them too.. Win-win.
I am trying to downsize some too.. And trying to NOT replace what I get rid of.lol
Have a great day, and thank you Shelly, for praying for Callie..I appreciate it so much..
God bless.

You have been doing great with your simplifying and "weeding" of things. I need to get busy here at my house with some clearing out stuff.

Lilly looks so sweet sleeping in the picture. What a good little companion.

What a wonderful arrangement! Congrats! I have been downsizing everything in my home. I know we can do without so much clutter in our lives, but some things have a hold of me that won't let go. I am such a sentimental person!
Blessings to you!

I wish I had an antique shop friend to do that arrangement with! Sounds like it's win-win!

And I love that quote- it's something I need to print out and be reminded of every day!!!
