Ole' to Izannah

Google image
These are some examples of Izannah Walker dolls. I'm sure some of you are familiar with these wonderful dolls of long ago, but for those that aren't, go visit here for some history on them. Aren't they just lovely?
Well, you know awhile back I posted about my reborning dolls, well I'm at it again, but this time I'll call what I'm doing as " Doll Altering" Taking dolls rescued from the thrift stores , cleaning them up and altering them into becoming a total new doll!

The doll in this picture below is the one I just started transforming.  Basically , all I've done at this point is bathed her , painted hair and eyebrows on her. Do you see where I'm going with her? I hope it's fairly evident that I'm fashioning her into an Izannah Walker look alike, if you will :)

Of course, there is still much work to do on this little one until her makeover is complete, but I just couldn't keep myself from sharing with you. I'll share her again once she is complete. I'll be adding her to my Esty shop and see if someone may be interested in adopting her for a reasonable fee, of course.
I am also going to have a couple of my crocheted lap blankets to offer and a few vintage items as well. I'm trying to keep my hands busy, and make a little extra income too, which is needed.  Hope you all have a fun, very blessed weekend ♡ Shelley

You are very talented, Shelley! Lovely little lady. I need to get my Etsy shop up and going, again, too. I was hoping to be able to open a booth at one of the local antique/craft malls but so far they are all full with a waiting list that may never get to my name! LoL

Grace & Peace

You my dear have a talent for the brush stroke!!! Keep doing what you are doing!! (I think that you could be an old fashioned cloth doll artist)!

So sorry Shelley that I've taken so long getting back to You.The babysitting has gotten Me behind in My personal time. Were now going to a new church that starts at 12:00 noon so I have lots of time this morning. What a fun You are having.I'm impressed how determined You are in opening Your shop.I have thought about it often,I'm just concerned the shipping would eventually discourage Me.I did drop the ball in going through with buying that one special doll.I suppose it had to do with all the money I spent on Christmas gifts.Talk to You soon.Don't forget-I want to know what day You go in for the BIG EVENT Love Denise
