This,that and my Marine!

I thought I would share a couple of projects I finished. My summer wreath I made above in the first picture. I like how it turned out. I thought about adding more to it,maybe a flag or rag doll in the center, but decided to keep it simple. I hung it over my little mantel shelf, where I plan on creating a small 4th of July display soon. The next project below was once a picture frame, which I picked up at our local Charity shop. It was missing the glass where the picture would go,but I had other plans for it anyway. I found another glass to fit and decoupaged the rose tissue paper to it. Its sitting here in my little kitchen window next to my table. Made a nice simple stained glass window.

And now for a recent find to share with you. I picked this Fisher Price chime ball up at Hospice for .50 cents. My kiddos had one as children and it brought back memories for me. The sound of the chime made me smile. Both my now grown daughters noticed it right away...their comment...Oh,I remember this....was well worth that  50 cents and more so...smile!

Well,I am going to be leaving Wednesday along with my youngest daughter Kathy,on a flight to San Diego,to see my son Johnny graduate from the Marine boot camp he has been in since March. I am very excited, but a little anxious too as I haven't travel much at all and have never been on a airplane ride before. I am very thankful to be able to go as it is a huge blessing to me to get to see him graduate. This has been one of his dreams since he was about 12 years old. I am so thankful to my daughter for taking time from her job to go with me. The Lord was good to provide the money as a loan from a dear person so we could go. I do desire your prayers though. My main concern is my health. I can't walk much, nor stand very long at all. I also have a problem with my feet and legs swelling, and I fall easily. I do have a wheelchair, which will make it possible for me to even go. Just pray my daughter can hold up to pushing me through airports and all over the Marine base. She is strong and healthy so that shouldn't be a problem to much for her though.
Thursday will be "Family Day" then Friday the graduation. I can't wait to see him. My Marine!

Blessings on your week,Shelley

Cute wreath!! Guess I wasn't the only one ready to have a pretty patriotic wreath!

Have a safe and enjoyable trip! You might check on getting help at the airport with a wheelchair. My grandmother does when she flies down to visit. :) Congrats on your sons graduation!

Wonderful wreath and stained glass!

I agree that if you could check, even ahead of time, about getting help at the airports it might be a great thing! They might be able to tranport you, your daughter and your wheelchair on one of their little shuttles... Just a thought. I want you to have the very best time! Will be praying for that to happen!

Love,
Lily
