I was asked tonight in Bible Study what I put my confidence in. After thinking it over,to be perfectly honest..there isn't a lot in this world I can trust in...I own a broken down vehicle, the old mobile home I live in is just about on its last leg,I have a broken marriage, even my body isn't in the best condition, and I lack much confidence in my own self. I have found out more than once some people (even those very dear to us) will fail you, your own dogs will sometime bite you....friends sometimes talk behind your back, but there is one thing I am perfectly confident in..Jesus Christ...is the same yesterday, today and forever. What he said way back when, stills rings true today...through ever trial, sorrow, pain and suffering...he has never failed me,and he never will! I have been made stronger through each battle,I have been made more confident in my faith in him in every valley I had to walk through. I love many people,my children, grandchildren, parents, extended family, brothers and sisters in the Lord, some very close friends, but God and God's word has and will always remain my one constant Faithful, honest, true thing! I am certain he will help me through whatever my tomorrows hold,of this I am very confident....and even though I may fail him,he is just and will forgive me..his word declares it to be so!
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you(in me) will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Phil. 1:6
I also wanted to show you this...I purchased myself a bona fide PA. Dutch Amish Bonnet from Etsy...I can't wait to get it and try it on :)
I plan on putting it to some good use.
Blessings,Shelley

Your post blessed my heart in a mighty way dear Shelley! He is our One and Only, and you expressed it so beautifully.
That Amish hat will look wonderful on you...I can't wait to see a photo of you wearing it!
A beautiful bonnet and a beautiful post. As I was told we are here learning and of course with learning there will be tests. I remind myself of that!
Me again Shelley...I was just visiting Abby of Little Birdie Blessings. I know you read her blog. Her Scripture Thursday blog post is up and it's called Increased Strength. I think the Lord gave the post to her so she could share it...just for you!
Always a delight to visit Shelley. Your write is wonderful. Wish I had known as I had a bonnet I'd have just given to you.
Have a great week.

Amen, sister Shelley!
Jesus..He is our Rock through all that life throw's at us.
He's the One "true" Truth for us to cling to!
I love your bonnet very much.
I've been thinking of getting one myself.
You will look lovely in it..and it will look wonderful with your prim decorating too :-)
Have a blessed day..Trish
I am thankful that no one can snatch us out of the Father's hand. Jesus tells us so.
Big black bonnets are worn by the Amish in the winter here in Lancaster, PA. Sometimes I see little girls wear blue bonnets in summer to keep the sun off their faces but little white heart-shaped head coverings are what I mostly see worn by the ladies - which doesn't shade the face at all. Strange.
When my girl were little (in Tenn) they'd wear calico bonnets out to play to keep the ticks out of their hair and the sun off their faces. I'd like to make a bonnet for my doll.
Wow, your post spoke to my own heart and I did tear up a little. The Apostle Paul stated he came not in any of his own confidence but in that of the Lord. Being disabled myself for over 27 years now, I understand the disappointments when one has to rely on others, who may not see needs that need to be met in an appropriate time. I also have had some very hurtful comments made to me, because I “look healthy”, so I must just be lazy, among other unkind things said. Christ endured many hurtful comments from His own people, so He understands and is someone we can run to at such times, bringing Him our hurts, to have one place to run and curl up in the hollow of His hand is such a blessing. God bless you.
"I have found a friend in Jesus" There are times that to God, and God alone can I tell my concerns and troubles. He won't tell anyone! We can trust that He won't spread it around. Great post, Shelley.
