Reality...of what is home!

This is my home...you see why I need to move? As I have said before,my home is on its last leg. It took a lot of courage to share these pictures. The yard is very, very unkempt! Which agitates me to no end,but I just turn a blind eye to it. I can't help what I can't any longer do! My kids do help from time to time, but their lives too are busy and full so it is what it is! This is the reality of what is my home dear friends.....peeling paint...broken windows..rotting wood, etc.

Please, don't think me ungrateful because truly ....as I have always said, I have been content these past 21 years living in this home, but now it feels to me like it is time, (if God wills it) to move on. There are some doors opening...just no decisions made at this time!
More on that subject later.  Below......My beautiful stone angel standing guard over this mess :)

Praying for you Shelley. Thanks for your openeness and honesty. It helps us to know how to pray for you. I know you will trust the Lord and allow him to guide your steps...You home has been faithful to provide the shelter you needed and if it is time to move on then I pray that you get just what you need for a replacement. Love your little angel.. If we could really see the reality of the spiritual warfare around us and the angels who battle and stand guard against the enemy per the Fathers command all just for us... Blessings!

Dear Shelley, thank you for being honest. We are in the same boat. For many years, I had a beautiful yard, and now it pains me to look at those pictures compared to what it looks like now. We can barely keep it mowed and trimmed without having to maintain flower beds and gardens like we used to. We also need to do a lot of work on the house but it's so hard physically we just do what absolutely has to be done. I pray that God brings you a good solution to your housing problem soon

Sometimes a home may not seem as pretty as we'd want it to but it's what you make of the home you've been given that counts. I pray you find another place if that's what you've been wanting and that God will open doors for you and lead you in the direction you should go. Please keep us posted on this. Blessing to you my friend.

How hard it must be for you to share, because you think we are going to judge you...far from the truth Shelley. The property itself is what it is...but you, Dear Lady is the reason I keep coming back. It is for your wisdom and for your love for Our Lord that keeps me visiting! :)

Allow Our Lord to guide you in what to do next. If it is moving to another place, then allow the opportunity to happen.

I will be praying with you that God will lead you in the direction you should go. You have no need to be ashamed of your home. You should see what Jack and I lived in for a time. You actually had to pick your way when walking to avoid going thru the floor. Love and huggles.

Well your home is long! I truly find that people with really nice homes, most of the time, are people in debt. And come retirement, I don't think any of us will be as well off as our parents were! There will always be people who have more than you, and those who have less. What counts is that you have always been grateful for what you have, as we can all see who read your blog. God could've put us in any country under the sun, and things could and still can be worse.

My Dear Shelley,

Just this morning I was looking around my 50 year old home and thinking of how many in our country would not want to live in it. But you know... it is where the Lord has brought me... just like your home is where He has brought you. This home has met my needs just as yours has for you and we are both grateful. :) But it may be soon time for both of us to move to the next place He has prepared for our earthly lives that will fit us better for these days. I hope that soon just the right place comes to you. Until then you and I will both trust Him and listen for his voice telling of His love and His guidance. I send you hugs today because I know very much your feelings. I am with you on this journey through life.
Love to you,
Lily, WA, USA

The very best part of your blog is the opportunity to visit someone who is real...honest and true. Someone who loves the Lord with all her heart. Someone who is simple and sweet. That's why I visit. I'll continue to visit no matter where you live.
I'll be praying that the Lord leads you to a perfect place. One that meets all your needs...and maybe even a few wants!

Your home in no way diminishes who you are. You are an open and honest woman who many of us admire. I hope a new place opens up for you soon. You deserve it.

It is not the outside of our homes that matter but the love that is within our walls. Homes and yards are A LOT of work and upkeep. I know that as my kids leave and hubby and I get older, we will have to move to something that won't need so mucy repair and upkeep. Praying that God will lead you to something that is perhaps, a bit more managable for you. Prayers from Arizona from your friend.

Shelley, our homes are not just the external buildings that we live in but our homes are our hearts and you, dear friend, have a lovely home. {{HUGS}}

PS I couldn't fix that Reading List link problem so I started a brand new blog which should have NO problems.

Shelley, you have made so many beautiful blogs and shown us so many pictures of your sweet vignettes of adorable pieces that I had imagined the outside to be a country cottage type. But, what's important are the wonderful memories and beauty you have created on the INside of your home, and encouraging us to do the same. I want to thank you for that. Showing us the outside makes all of us feel even more comfortable about our homes. There is not a house built that cannot make wonderful memories. Thanks for not whining about what you don't have.

I'll be praying for your new place. You deserve a good solid house to make even more happy memories in. :-)

Your old house was full of love and grace and warmth and the Lord 's presence, it may not lok good to the human eye but all who live in it are blessed by God.

May the Lord bless you with a haven of rest and a harbour house. We' ve live d in old houses and I understand the need to find new housing after a while. My present house, my inheritance was built 29 years ago and we have to maintain it pretty much. I thank God for it

Please do not be ashamed. The outward condition of your home does not reflect the kind of person you are here. I admire your honesty. There are many who don't have a home, or thoes who are in debt to pay for an outwardly beautiful one. I pray the Lord would have His very best for you. Blessings,
Christina

You have a cozy home, a roof over your head, a warm bed and a place to meditate, create. I always enjoy your simple creativity ideas and the fact that you are aware of downsizing and sorting. Maybe it is just me, but I find your home very welcoming and charming and not unlike many places I have been in my life. Life is not about stuff...or homes..it is about people and good hearts!

This also makes me think of two sayings, "Brighten the corner where you are" and "Bloom where you are planted". You have brightened your corner of the world (and ours) and your "garden" has bloomed beautifully! Thanks, again.
