Riding it out...........
I think I may live :) Although my daughter offered to take me to the hospital today , I opt out because I got up feeling just a bit better...the coughing has calmed down, I sweat through out the night last night so I feel like I hit a breaking point. This is some really bad stuff...I will try and not neglect taking a flu shot in the future. I know there are so many people dealing with this just in my own area and all over the country. I have been at home and stayed away from as much persons as I can...I sure don't wish this upon anyone. My sons have both been by to drop off some meds, soup, gro. etc. My dear friend Betty, which is already battling cancer has taken the flu as well...bless her heart she was supposed to be having her surgery today, but it was postpone due to her sickness. Her doctor sent her to the clinic and she stayed eight hours...the place was overflowing with sick folks...most all had the flu...the doctor told her there is an epidemic of it . I thank you all for your prayers...I feel them and I believe they are being answered......God bless.

Dear Shelley, If it's the intestinal flu(gastritis) Well, there's no real prevention. If it's really the influenza (The Flu) Next year and every year after please get the immunization.I don't know your age, but most of us qualify to have it and it's free usually..I'v been getting it for years and years.Love and health to you from our Lord -Denise
Hope you are feeling better soon. Last time I had the flu was about 13 years ago and I felt horrible --it was rough - like you describe. Since then, Hubby and I have gotten a flu shot every fall and we pretty much stay well all winter. Rest and recover!
Dear Shelley,
I am so glad you hear you are feelilng better! My, what a bad flu it must be! I was sorry to hear that Betty also came down with it. She has been in my prayers for the cancer treatments. Please do keep us advised of her situation. Blessings!
Love,
Lily, WA, USA
Hope you feel better soon, Shelley. The flu is such an awful illness. Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way and to your friend, too. The flu is everywhere in New England... a bad flu season.
Oh Shelley...take your time my friend. Feel better soon. So hard when our system begins to shut down on us and tries to fight the bacteria that is all around us.
You are going to be fine my friend...just take your time and rest.
Keeping you in my prayers Shelley...
Hope you continue to feel better!
Shelley, I'm so sorry to hear you're sick- the flu is the worst, isn't it??? I hope you feel better soon.
Just had to write and tell you I love the idea of an Amish dollhouse! What a neat idea- my mother collects little Amish figures, so I grew up with Amish imagery close to my heart! I hope your son comes through for his mom with the house!!
Shelley, I hope you are recovering. It sounds like you had a bad bout of the flu. Look at it this way-the new year can only get better!! Happy New Year!
Bless your heart, I'm so sorry you've had the flu! It is really going around this year. Lindsey just got over it and the doctor told her it wouldn't have done any good to have the flu shot because the strain she had wasn't included in this year's flu serum. I hope you are feeling better! Prayers to you! Twyla
Sorry since it's been awhile since I last visited you here . . .
Oh dear! I was not aware that you were suffering from a terrible case of the flu! It scared me to read your post about your conditions and situation. I'm glad you didn't have to go back to the hospital. I pray that the Lord will keep you calm during those long nights where you are sweating.
I was also sad to learn that many in your community have been stricken with the flu as well. I pray that God will heal them as well.
Take care Dear Friend, and I do hope that you will be feeling better soon.

I hope you are feeling better very soon. I'm glad your kids are looking in on you. My husband and I are both miserable right now with some kind of heavy head and chest cold. We don't ache bad enough for it to be the flu, plus we got our flu shots. It's Day #4 of it for me, and I started running a fever today and my asthma, usually well controlled, is getting bad. Luckily, I was able to get medicines to help with a call to my asthma doctor's office and didn't have to go in to see him and get exposed to more "sickness cooties". The assistant said they were swamped with sick people coming in and the phone was ringing constantly. So many people sick right now! Oh my, I am already getting impatient for Spring to come.
Great advice from Denise! I better listen to her too!
Get well my friend, your healer is with you.
