FRIENDS.........

We had our monthly ladies meeting at church last night. I was the speaker...I originally was going to speak on Proverbs 31,but the Lord changed my message to the relationship between friends. I didn't take a lot of notes, just spoke what the Holy Spirit led me too! Jesus called his disciples friends here John 15: 13-15   , and he washed the feet of his friends here as an act of humility between friends , Oh what a friend is he!  Should we be any less a friend to one another?

When the Lord changed the subject of the lesson,I had no idea that he was leading our ladies director to have a feet washing service along with the message this night. She had no idea what the message topic was! I love when the Lords moves this way....last evening was a beautiful time in the Lord between us ladies....us friends! We had a larger number of ladies there than we had in months. God was in control of every single thing, and every lady, even some very young ladies, 8-13 year old were so very blessed, as they too washed the feet of some of our elders. It was a beautiful time of fellowship and praise.

I don't know if any of you ladies have ever been a part of a feet washing service, as they are not practiced as they once were ,but its a very humbling experience to participate in. I for one was very blessed to be a part of  ours. I believe every other lady was as well.

I can see how this can truly be humbling...you feel quite embarrassed to see someone you know kneel in front of you and wash a part of yourself that is just not shared...your feet.

But Our Lord did it for His disciples, and I know by their words in Scripture, that they too, were quite embarrassed by it all...and humbled but also, quite blessed!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts Shelley. m.

Dear Shelley,

How blessed you all were! Our God does lead in the most amazing ways! I am glad it was a special time for all of you.
I have been a part of foot washing services. Once in a ladies group and once as a full congregation where men washed the feet of other men and women of other women. It was very bonding and blessed, too.

Love to you,

How wonderful it can be when we step aside and allow the Holy Spirit to work.
