Simple Makings

I've been trying to be creative again. I had a lone sock without a mate so I decided to make a sock doll, of sorts! The black top is the toe of the sock. The collar is a ponytail holder, I tried on for looks.  I didn't like it so it came off!
The little snowman is one I crocheted.

Then I added her eyes and started adding some hair. Now, shes playing in my work basket until I feel like going at it again.

This nose has got to go. I'm not making a mouse! !!!!

I left her alone a minute and shes trying to crawl out! Oh dear me, shes showing her bare tush. No time for diapers and clothes yet. You naughty little thing, back in the basket with you!

Well, if nothing else, shes sure to be one of a kind......not another like this one in the whole world ;)

Now, on to other things.........

This little doll below, Matilda (Tilly), went to live with my dear friend.  Another doll gone, but not forgotten! I'm serious about this paring down business, as I also sent two trash bags full of books to our home town charity shop, and three dolls went to the church nursery for the little ones to enjoy. When I'm done, I'll only be keeping about four dolls, that is "when I'm done "    The deciding which four is kinda difficult for me.

 Blessings my friends

I know you are sharing and making lots of others happy, too. It sure is hard to 'pare' down the dollies though. Keep enough huggable dolls, my friend. And enjoy your week and your creative fun! Hugs, Diane

Those are sweet, Shelley. Makes me want to get out my yarn. :-)

Paring down can be difficult, especially when it's stuff we really like, but know we shouldn't/can't keep it all. Good luck with that!

You are doing well Shelley.. I pared down my doll collection this past Summer although I so love them.. It is nice to be creative this time of the year, eh? Take care, dear heart. xo

Even as old as I am, I still love dolls. Love your sock baby even if she is a work in progress.

I collected dolls for years. When I moved I donated them to a lady who was putting them in a museum.

Oh Shelley, what will we do once you get "pared down" to just four dolls. I so love to read about their escapades! I think that little sock dolly is going to be one of my favorites! I sure wish I still lived in your neck of the woods! I would take all your "give-aways" and love them! LoL

Grace & Peace.

So many possibilities with sock dolls! Pairing down --yes me too. I send some to new homes , but someone seems to show up for a visit. Who is letting them in...LOL!

Dear Shelley,

What a fun doll! I love making things from extra socks, as well. We have lots around here! :) It's fun to be creative and make something from a cast-off, isn't it?

Love,

Marqueta

So wonderful Shelley ! I've never made a doll,of any kind.I've ALWAYS thought about it though.I would first need to find a lone sock that is nice enough to do it with, easier said than done for Me.I love to see You making things,I like Your style.Shelley when I was little My Father's Mom and Sister would roll up hankies in church to occupy us girls. There was two rolled "babies"in a blanket when they were done.

OH my, only four dolls! I don't know if I would have the strength that you do- I try to pare down frequently, but my "pared-down" looks like someone else's "too much"!!
