Homemaking

Pinterest

I've been here before, talking about my decor style. I've tried this and I've tried that. If you have been following me for at least a few years  then you know how I change back and forth.  So, with all that being said ......I have once again changed my mind of style for my home. The retro wasn't working for me!  Did not even feel like home to me much at all. I've done away with it, all of it. My decorating style is and hopefully will continue to be just simply my style........Simply Shelley Style!

Simple, quaint, plain, cozy, comfy! Which is just how Miss Suzy preferred her own home. I loved this story as a child, still do ;)

She is such a good homemaker.

I go through many decorating styles, until I reach the one that brings me joy....

I do the same thing but in the end, I always return to my Prim/Country love. It just feels so warm, inviting, and homey.

Grace & Peace.

Style is a funny thing- decorating and clothing because what I really love isn't necessarily what I have. For instance, in my living room, the brown partical board book case from Walmart isn't "me" but it's what we could afford- same with the end tables/lamps. Only parts of my home are the way I'd like them to be. I'm actually just thankful for a nice warm house right now!
Have fun! ♥

... Hi Shelley... My home decor has no particular style at all... I call it 'Evolved Comfort' ....
I've been very actively de-cluttering and giving our home a little face lift... comfey chairs, new floor rug... wonderful....
If it works and makes you happy then I think that's the best 'style' of all.....
Hugs and Blessings... Barb xxx

Oh, a storybook illustrated by Arnold Lobel. I'll have to look out for it. I've hung onto a book from my childhood, too.

I like "country" style because it seems to cover a broad range of eclectic homey things - whatever the time period.
