RIP Dear Duke...my sweet old dog.

Gone,but never forgotten

Duke...sitting up

My sweet old dogie,Duke died today! I am so sad,but I have been praying for this,so I wouldn't have to have him put down. He couldn't walk any longer and had to be carried in and out of the house to go potty. I knew I couldn't lift him after my surgery. The kids help, but I just didn't know what to do for him anymore. It was hard taking care of him before my surgery with my other disabilities. He didn't bark to be let out this morning like he normally does. I called my neighbor daughter to come take him out because it was late morning already. We had to coach him out of his bed,he just looked up at me with those big black eyes like it was trying to tell me something.....I guess he was. Regina took him out,and when my grandson came a little while later to bring him back in the house,he found him dead. I cried for over an hour! I am going to miss him terribly, but I know this is for the best. The Lord must be very confused with me...asking him for something, then crying like a baby when I receive it. No,he understands,of this I'm certain.
I am heading back to the doctor tomorrow with a possible infection....I pray that isn't the case though.
Blessings dear friend! Thanks for your kindness toward me.

He loved Christmas, see him in the window?

It's never easy saying goodbye to a pet. They become part of the family. I understand not wanting to put him down. It's good that God took him
I pray your appointment goes well and there is no infection. May Jesus wrap His arms around you and give His comfort and healing.

Oh Shelley,

I know how very hard it is to say Good Bye to a greatly loved dog who has been a good companion. I have done it, too, and cried the tears...

But this scripture verse has been a great comfort to me over the years at those times.'

Romans 8:19 - 22: (in the Living Bible translation)
"For all creation is waiting patiently and hopefully for that future day when God will resurrect his children. ......the world around us will share in the glorious freedom from sin which God's children enjoy. For we know that even the things of nature, like animals and plants, suffer in sickness and death as they await this great event."

I believe this says that God has a plan for all creation! I hope you find it helpful and that you can soon have great peace.

And I am still praying for you and your health! I hope you don't have an infection! I will be by to see if you let us know in a post. God bless you and comfort you, too!

Love,

Our animals become part of our family and they leave a very large space when they leave our side.

It is alright to mourn my friend. Our Lord gave us these companions for our joy! Duke has finished his purpose here.

Focus on your doctor's appointment and praying it is not an infection. I know that those can be quite painful and if you are sad, they don't heal as fast. Keep looking UP Sweet Shelley.

Oh I am so sorry! Dogs are easily dear to us, our companions. (I call my dog my doorbell, as she knows even if the UPS or mail truck pulls up).

I hope you do not have an infection! I hope it is just natural soreness from moving around, etc!!! I will say a prayer right now.

Dear Shelley, I'm so sorry that you lost your beloved companion today. Thankful that Duke passed easily and you didn't fact that decision. It is so hard to lose a pet; I rest believing I will see my dogs again in glory. May his memory bring you comfort. He would say thank you for loving him.

Sending many hugs...I know you will miss him but it has worked out for best as you said. I didn't realize that you had a Boston terrier. They are such fabulous dogs...such good companions. Feel better soon and know that you gave him a wonderful life. Good luck with your Dr. appt. xx
