~Happy Halloween~

No Fridays doll show today...but wanted to wish all my dear friends a safe and happy Halloween! Hope you have a lot of fun with friends and family and get lots of goodies,but no mean tricks....

As a Christian I realize some people have there own opinion of how, are if ,we should celebrate the Halloween holiday. I have been a Christian for many years and I believe that as Christians we should represent Christ in every area of our life's. In every situation. In celebrations of any kind we should always try and glorify Christ. I personally see no wrong or sin in celebrating Halloween. The word Halloween itself means "ALL HALLOWS EVE". With Nov.1st. being "All Saints Day"(a day set aside to honor the dead Saints in Christ)but I do think when celebrating Halloween we should do in it a matter which represents good and not evil. A time to give thanks for the harvest of good things from God in the way of crops and foods and gatherings of his bountiful blessings toward us. If you choose to celebrate with a festival or "Treat or Treating" or the like just remember that even in the event of Halloween we can find a good occasion to witness and let others know about the great sacrifice of Christ and how he concurred death, hell, and the grave for us .With so much evil in the world today sometimes its very hard to recognize the good in any occasion but when you choose to see through spiritual eyes rather than fleshly ones the good is so much easier to find. Some people always strain the find evil but I choose to look for that which reflects light. Hope you have a great time of fun and fellowship this Halloween and remember all those Saints who were martyred for the sake of claiming Christ as their Savior ! What examples were they !

Even more ,we should reprove them.....

I am in no way claiming that I am perfect,there was only one who walked this earth a perfect man....Jesus! I do my best to follow the perfect one and I strive to do the will of God in all things and fail often... I repent and continue on my walk.

~Life's steady rhythm~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's wonderful to have a steady rhythm to your life. Everyday having a purpose of getting up,going about your daily routine. Kids to school ,husband to work, and you left to mind the home,and tend the necessities. Washing clothes ,floors,and dishes,preparing meals,making your dwelling a home loved ones love,to come home to....but.............

What happens when things get out of gear? When the rhythm is no longer?

Then what? This has happened so often in my 33 yrs. of being a wife and mother. Life seems to be going along so wonderfully and then ...BANG....out of no where , IT happens!!!!!!

How to you handle the sudden ,unwanted stresses of life? Big or little,they certainly disrupt your nest....This was such the case this past week,and has seem to carry over into this week....

My best solution is,and has always been,to take the problem to God,and then do my best to continue to operate as normal as possible.

Yesterday, I did a lot of my normal daily things here at home and tried my best to.. NOT... let.... IT... flood my mind with worry and concern,which isn't God's will for me!

Regina, my daughter doesn't have transportation at this time so I carried her to a doctors appointment in the afternoon and while she was in the clinic,I visited the little library that I love so. I was so relaxed sitting in the corner I always go to and looking through some wonderful decorating books and new holiday books. Including the new books out by Matthew Mead.

This little library has always been a place for me to go to,and enjoy a feeling of peace and comfort. It felt good to relax and let go of a little of that unwanted stress....

In the late afternoon I went out into the yard and picked some baby pine cones off the big pine tree that is still lying in our yard ,left over as a reminder of the recent hurricane we had,IKE! It's beginning to die now and turning brown. Guess,some one may soon decide there's a need to cut it up and discard it.....

I have always told my kids when they are feeling overwhelmed and stressed to start counting their blessings and see what is wonderful about their life's. I do this same thing,and I always feel better. THINGS will happen,that's certain,and as long as we travel this road of life ,there will be highs and lows,,,ups and downs...but,come what may,I have made up my mind that I am in this for the long haul.

Satan ,I am giving you notice....you will not defeat me...for Greater is he,that is within me,than he that is within this world...... 1 John 4:4

God's will be done.........................

ROMANS 8:28

And we know that all THINGS work together for good to them that love God,to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.

~Children and their play time~Change in play,change in Kids.

I read a article here http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=19212514 that I wanted to share with you because I believe it so much. Our children of today are so different in the way they play,than children of the past. Even my grown children ,who are in their 20's and 30's,played so differently than children of today.

Of course,they grew up in the 80's and 90's,and there were many tek toys available such as video games ,etc. to entertain children.

However,we were not able to afford such luxuries for our children so,they entertained themselves,the old fashion way. Like playing out doors for hours. Building forts and playhouses,catching tadpoles out of the creek,making box turtles out of pets.

Then there was this one thing I didn't know about until some time later, climbing the tall skinny pine trees and riding them up and down while the trees swayed from the weight of my children. It's a wonder they didn't send themselves flying through the woods. Does sound like a lot of fun though! Smile........

My girls played dolls and had tea parties. Their brother had lots of little hot wheels and they would all have a ball making roads in the dirt. Not to mention all the cats and dogs that made them great playmates through the years. I dare say but,my dear grandchildren have only a portion of the imaginative play time that their parents had,and when they do play in an imaginary way, they have been so corrupted from video games,movies and the like that it makes for some concern as to just what they are imagining during their play time.

I think children are growing up so fast these days and their childhoods are getting shorter and shorter. Way to soon do little girls grow out of their baby dolls and move on to other more grown up things. The boys too don't spend near enough time riding their bikes,flying kites and fishing in the nearest creek.

I would like to encourage parents of small children today to cut back on how much time your children are spending in front of the T.V.,computer,watching movies and the endless video games. Get them outdoors and get them busy using their minds to invent an imaginative play time.

I am proud of my DD Kathryne,and her DH,Justin for choosing to have the play house build for Jalyn and Kalyn.It will provide for some great imaginative play time for them. May helped to improve their coping skills ,which will be worth all the time,money and effort....
